The art of Craps

The old one and venerated play of the Craps, is played everywhere, from alleys to the most luxurious casinos. The Dice offer an extensive variety of bets in its various aspects, but in its heart, all is relatively simple: the marksman throws a pair of Craps, and if they fall with a total of seven or eleven, he earns; if they fall in two or three or twelve, he loses; if they fall in any another total of numbers (four, five, six, eight, nine or ten), then, that number becomes its "Point," and he continues throwing the Craps until he equalize his point and he gain or he throw a seven and he lose. The mathematical probability of the Craps is quite direct and sample that the marksman desire around the 49.29% of the times.

In an intense competence of casino for players and profits, is always receptive to explore new innovative forms to encourage the "action" in its play. Any that some time have itself put on the table of Craps, knows that the Craps already is a play it sufficient animated, but here is an exercise of mathematical probability, seeing a new possible angle of wagering in the Craps.

Here it is, the "countdown:" if the first shot of the marksman is a five or a nine, the marksman and all the ones that have wagered in it, they have the option to double their original bets. Of course, because the advantages are 6 to 4 against gaining a point of five or nine (six sietes lose, to only four cincos or nueves that gain), a not experienced player in that situation, never would take that option to increase their bet - unless there was another greater advantage for him. That greater advantage, here, is that if the marksman goes for ten shots more without a he gain normal or a losing result, then, he automatically earns, or if the marksman desire doing his point, exactly in his I try number ten, then he earns ten times his bet already doubled! Interesting, eh?

Here it is how the mathematical probability functions, of this new option of bet described, first that nothing, normally with a point of five or nine, the marksman wait to gain a 40% of the times (combinations of four Craps doing its winning point, six combinations doing sietes losing), and for each bet of $1.00, is a loss average of 20 cents. With the new option for five or nine points, the 94.65% of the times the problem will be decided in any shape or form inside the first nine additional shots, the marksman doing its point for a gain of $2.00 (after to have doubled its original bet) 37.86% of the times, or throwing a seven for a loss of $2.00 the 56.79% of the times. But then, the 5.35% of the times, reaching the tenth decisive shot, the marksman still would be facing the combinations of six Craps for the sietes losing, but now the 26 combinations that neither they are sietes neither are winning points for him; and the best of all, he would have opportunities for its four combinations doing its point that now would gain $20.00 - twenty times each original bet of $1.00.

How would they affect these possibilities of this new option of bet to the loss average of 20-cents-per-$1.00, for a player with a point of five or nine under the normal rules of the Craps? Not a lot of - increasing slightly to only 20.04 cents. But alone imagine the "murmur" around the table of Craps when the point be five or nine, and the constant increase of emotion of the anticipation with "the countdown" toward the tenth peak shot! Good Luck!
